We set off early to beat the heat (impossible atm) and used Kamoot to get us out of Carcassonne. It was okay but failed again by taking us on crazy paths that were unsealed. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong!
We cycled through beautiful vineyards today. It was just so lovely. So much so, we got a little misplaced and were off our intended route. We were using paper maps by this time along with some help from Google. So a few extra kms and a stop a little earlier than planned. We visited La Somail on the way, a pretty village on the Canal du Midi.
We are in a municipal campground at Capestang. It has what we need albeit basic. We have reviewed our plans given the heat but have decided to stay with our original itinerary. We think it still is the best option.
