Gignac to Anduze 78km

That was bloody hard!

We road back out through Saint Guilhem and through the gorges. The road was rollling hills and included a 5km climb that the roadies use for training. I was out of gears before I even started. 😩 We did just over 600m of elevation which is tough on a loaded touring bike. The last couple of hours were also very hot which made for some very difficult riding.

We were meant to be on the northern side of Anduze in a campground however we had agreed we would keep an eye out for something closer to the southern side as that is the way we are heading tomorrow. We found a campground just before Anduze called Camping La Bel ete. Best of all it is free for cyclists for one night. How’s that for luck! And it has a pool and is situated on the river! Winning. 🥳And did I mention Mojito’s? 🍹🍹🍹

Tomorrow we head to Avignon via Pont du Gard. We saw an historic picture of it in the Louvre and now we get to see the real thing. Second time for me. 😁 We have two nights in Avignon so we can explore the city.

Some photos from today.
