I wanted to ride back into the hills today to visit Benevent l’Abbaye, a significant town on the pilgrim route as is La Souterraine.
What a beautiful ride without panniers. I realise how strong I’ve become over the past couple of weeks and find the climbing, and there was a lot of it, quite comfortable.
Unfortunately I didn’t get to visit the Abbey as there were renovation works and the best I could do was get a couple of pictures inside the Church. Never mind, it was worth it for the ride and the Macca’s chips! 🤭
