Due to the heat we decided that we wouldn’t try to make it to Chenonceau today but rather stop around 60km. We had found camping just outside Montresor, one of the most beautiful villages in France. We were lucky to have some cloud cover this morning which made riding quite bearable until the last few kilometres.
We left Rosnay at 7am keen to stop as soon as possible for coffee and food. We found something fairly quickly and felt better after our caffeine hit. We were keen to keep moving and the longer the morning went on, the warmer it became. After a supermarket stop for more provisions and a slight miscommunication in directions (my fault), we eventually found ourselves in Montresor around lunch time. The riding was again on beautiful small roads around farms of wheat, corn, sunflowers and cattle. Sometime avoiding the farm machinery can be a challenge.
We didn’t get to see much of Montresor given our focus was food, cold drinks and finding the campground. It did look like a lovely town but it is far too hot to make the ride back in today.
